Dragon Ball Z 七龙珠Z (1989 Toei Animation) Majin Buu Saga 魔人布欧

七龙珠Z
Dragon Ball Z

Dragon Ball Z is a Japanese anime television series produced by Toei Animation. Part of the Dragon Ball media franchise, it is the sequel to the 1986 Dragon Ball anime series and adapts the latter 325 chapters of the original Dragon Ball manga series created by Akira Toriyama. The series aired in Japan on Fuji TV from April 1989 to January 1996 and was later dubbed for broadcast in at least 81 countries worldwide. Dragon Ball Z continues the adventures of Goku in his adult life as he and his companions defend the Earth against villains including aliens (Vegeta, Frieza), androids (Cell), and magical creatures (Majin Buu). At the same time, the story parallels the life of his son, Gohan, as well as the development of his rivals, Piccolo and Vegeta. Due to the success of the anime in the United States, the manga chapters making up its story were initially released by Viz Media under the Dragon Ball Z title. The anime's popularity has also spawned numerous media and merchandise that has come to represent the majority of content within the Dragon Ball franchise. Dragon Ball Z remains a cultural icon through numerous adaptations and re-releases, including a remastered broadcast titled Dragon Ball Z Kai. Dragon Ball Z has since been followed by two sequel series: Dragon Ball GT (1996–1997) and Dragon Ball Super (2015–2018).

Majin Buu Saga
The Majin Buu Saga (魔人ブウ編 Majin Bū Hen, lit. "Majin Boo Arc") is the fourth major plot arc from the Dragon Ball Z series. The manga volume that it is made up of is "Boo Unleashed". In the Funimation dub's naming conventions for the English language release of the anime, the Majin Buu Saga is broken up into six sub-sagas: the Great Saiyaman Saga, the World Tournament Saga, the Babidi Saga, the Majin Buu Saga, the Fusion Saga, and the Kid Buu Saga. This article refers specifically to the events in the fourth sub-saga, which is the sixteenth overall saga. It deals with Majin Buu's emergence into Earth by the evil wizard Babidi, the emergence of Old Kai, the introduction of the Super Saiyan 3 transformation, and the Fusion Dance. In Japan, it aired in 1994 and 1995 and aired in the United States in late 2001 and 2002.

Majin Buu Saga
Innocent Buu
"Innocent Demon Person Boo"), usually just called Buu, is the first form of Majin Buu (魔ま人じんブウ Majin Bū, lit. "Demon Person Boo") seen in the Dragon Ball series. He is the result of Kid Buu absorbing Grand Supreme Kai. He is the main antagonist for the Majin Buu Saga.

Old Kai
Old Kai (老界王神 Rō Kaiōshin, lit. "Old God of the Kings of the Worlds") is a Potara fusion between the Old Witch and the Supreme Kai of the fifteenth generation, though he is usually just referred to as Elder Kai, or Great Lord Kaioshin (大界王神 様 Dai Kaiōshin Sama, lit. "Great God of the Kings of the Worlds") in the Japanese anime. A lecherous but wise and mostly upstanding deity, he serves as an advisor to the current Supreme Kai and acts as an important supporting character throughout most of the series.

Bee
Bee (ベエ Bē) is a Labrador owned by Mr. Satan and Good Buu. Bee's personality is like your average dogs. Usually in a happy mood when Mr. Satan and Innocent Buu are together. While he behaves mostly like an average dog, in Dragon Ball Super he is shown to be smart enough to be able to use the binoculars onboard the Princess Bulma. Additionally he picks up the Hero's Medal awarded to Mr. Satan that the Snackians dropped upon fleeing from Earth out of free of Bee, though his fetching it is consistent with real world dog behavior, indicating by Dragon Ball Super Bee is apparently well trained to the point he knows how to fetch things.

Van Zant
Van Zant (ライフル銃の男 Raifuru Jū no Otoko, lit. "Man with Rifle") is a madman character unnamed in the Dragon Ball manga, but named in the anime Dragon Ball Z. In the Japanese version and the manga, Smitty refers to him as "young master," implying that Van Zant is from a wealthy family and that Smitty is his butler and/or servant.

Smitty
"Servant") is a gunman who hangs around with Van Zant and appears for a few episodes of the Majin Buu Saga. In the Japanese dub and the manga, it is implied that Van Zant is from a wealthy family/background and Smitty is his butler, as the latter refers to the former as "young master."

Tommy
Tommy (盲目の少年 Mōmoku no Shōnen, lit. "Young Blind Boy") is a boy who was healed of his blindness by Majin Buu when he encountered him in the mountains. As a result of Buu's actions, Tommy would go on to change his name to Mister Bii (ビエ) as gratitude.
