Dragon Ball Super (ドラゴンボール超スーパー Doragon Bōru Sūpā) (commonly abbreviated as DBS) is the fourth anime installment in the Dragon Ball franchise, which ran from July 5th, 2015 to March 25th, 2018. It is set between Dragon Ball Z episodes 288 and 289 and is the first Dragon Ball television series featuring a new storyline in 18 years since the final episode of Dragon Ball GT in 1997. A Dragon Ball Super manga was being produced alongside the anime. The series is developed by Toei, in a similar process to the Dragon Ball, Dragon Ball Z, Dragon Ball GT animes and Dragon Ball Z: Battle of Gods and Dragon Ball Z: Resurrection ‘F’ films. The series plot takes place after the Kid Buu Saga, in between the ten-year gap towards the 28th World Martial Arts Tournament.

Universe Survival Saga 宇宙生存篇
The Universe Survival Saga (宇う宙ちゅうサバイバル編へん Uchū Sabaibaru Hen) is the fifth major saga of the Dragon Ball Super anime and the fourth major saga of the Dragon Ball Super manga under the name Tournament of Power Saga (力ちからの大会たいかい編へん Chikara no Taikai Hen). The Tournament of Power planned by Zeno begins, with multiple universes partaking—with each universe having gathered a team of 10 fighters who battle alongside each other on a stage. The arc features continuous debuts of elites from each universe. However, this also proves to be the beginning of universal destruction. If a team were to lose, meaning having all of its members eliminated, then the universe they come from will be destroyed immediately. The first part of this story arc is referred to as the Universe Survival Saga: Prelude, the second is the Universe Survival Saga: Gathering, the third is the Tournament of Power Saga and the fourth is the Tournament of Power Saga: Climax.
在第六宇宙篇的结尾时，全王提出“下回把全部宇宙的选手都聚集起来，来办一个比赛试试看哦”。孙悟空为了让全王实现这个诺言而不顾警告去会见全王，于是大神官招唤全部宇宙的界王神和破坏神前来，其中还包含第11宇宙傲兵队队长同时也是破坏神候补塔破。在提出破坏神决斗和观看孙悟空和塔破的对决后还是提议举办了比赛，因全王本意就有让平均水准低于七的宇宙消失，除了第一、第五、第八、第十二宇宙高于7免参加以外其余宇宙如果输了这场比赛，所在的整个宇宙将会被全王毁灭。但是如果赢得了这场比赛，就可以获得超级七龙珠向超级神龙许愿的资格，同时所属宇宙也可以不必被免除。孙悟空感觉事态严重于是邀请地球上的武术高手们参加比赛，孙悟空与孙悟饭、贝吉塔、天津饭、小林、短笛、龟仙人、人造人17号, 18号以及和布欧先生。但是布欧先生因为正在睡觉，所以孙悟空决定把布欧先生的名额让给地狱里的弗利萨，这几名来自地球和地狱的武术高手，代表整个第七宇宙参加这次的力量大赛。经过一轮激战后，第九、十、二、六、四、三宇宙按次序消灭。最后悟空和弗利萨和第十一宇宙的最强战士-吉连一起同归于尽，实际上是17号诈死与弗利萨号合谋，孙悟空并不知情，第十一宇宙最后也被消灭，并由17号获得超级七龙珠并许愿恢复所有被消灭的宇宙。第七宇宙水平也从倒数第二升格为倒数第三。
Grand Zeno 全王
全王，日本经典动漫《龙珠超》及其衍生作品中的角色。12个宇宙的最高统治者，万物之主。有权调换破坏神或界王神，可以让宇宙在一瞬间全部消失。原本一共有18个宇宙，其中的6个宇宙因惹怒全王已被全王消除。掌管十二宇宙的最尊贵强大的神，外表和说话语气都像小孩，语尾为“のね（none）”。过去曾有18个宇宙，其中6个宇宙后来因惹怒全王而被毁灭，才变成如今出现的12个宇宙。
Grand Zeno (全王 Zen’ō, lit. "King of All"), the Omni-King, is the supreme ruler of all the Multiverse and seemingly its most powerful being. Since the events of the "Future" Trunks Saga, Zeno co-rules jointly with his future counterpart.
Future Zeno 未来全王
Future Zeno (未来の全王 Mirai no Zen’ō, lit. "Future King of All") is one of the two kings of the 18 Universes in the present timeline and the former king of the 18 universes in Future Trunks' timeline, an entity that is above all living beings of all the universes, though he now lives in the main timeline, sharing the full authority over existence that Present Zeno possesses. In the manga, he is one of the four survivors of his timeline, alongside Future Trunks, Future Mai and Future Scratch.
Grand Minister 大神官
大神官，日本漫画《龙珠超》及其衍生作品中出场的角色。是身为多元宇宙的最高统治者全王的大管家，负责照顾全王的日常生活。大神官属于天使一族，各个宇宙天使都是他的孩子。第七宇宙的天使维斯自称自己的实力不如大神官的一根手指头。
The Grand Minister (大神官 Daishinkan, lit. "Great Priest" or "High Priest"), formally Grand Minister to the Omni-King(s), is an Angel serving as a close adviser and guiding figure to Zeno and Future Zeno. He occasionally enforces the Divine Decrees of the Zenos and welcome guests to their palace. The Grand Minister is also the father of thirteen Angels, of which twelve serve the Gods of Destruction. Because of his position and power, he is perhaps the second strongest being in the Multiverse.
Zeno's Attendants 全王的仆人
Zeno's Attendants (全王の付き人 Zen’ō no tsukibito) are a pair of tall identical entities that serve Zeno. In the anime version of the Universe Survival Saga a second identical pair of attendants appear to serve Future Zeno.
Yurin 由琳
Yurin (ユーリン Yūrin) is a martial artist who went to the Crane School with Tien Shinhan and Chiaotzu in the past. She currently trains under Tien at the Tien-Shin Style Dojo. She initially appears as a minor antagonist during the Universe Survival Saga.
由琳，是电视动画《龙珠超》及其衍生作品中的原创角色，是一位可爱的中国风姑娘。名字来源于中华料理“油淋鸡”。由琳过去曾经在鹤仙人门下与天津饭和饺子一起修行。某天因为天津饭的突然离去从而一直仇恨着，多年后为了复仇来到天津饭创建的道场。习惯骂天津饭为“三只眼秃驴”。透过多年间的修行，练成了只要将咒符贴在人类额头上便能操纵对方的妖术。为了抵毁天津流道场的名誉声望，从而操纵天津流门生甚至龟仙人到处捣乱破坏，孙悟空等人前来阻止。当全员妖术解除后，由琳被天津饭迎接加入他的道场，事后也向众多道场弟子和村民们谢罪。
The Null Realm
The Null Realm (無の界 Mu no Kai), also known as the World of Void, is an isolated place outside of the multiverse with literally no time or space and is an infinite void. The Null Realm is the setting of the Tournament of Power, as the fighters can take advantage of the void to use the full extent of their powers. The Grand Minister dubs the Null Realm as the setting for the Tournament of Power. The Gods of Destruction, Angels, and Supreme Kais from every universe gather to spectate the matches of their fighters of their respective universes, along with the Grand Minister, Zeno, and Future Zeno. The background sky changed to a darkish-green as the tournament progressed (in the anime the Grand Minister changed it to indicate the tournament's remaining time; 24 minutes). During the final minutes of the Tournament an energy attack causes the sky to change once more to a more typical space theme, with deep purple and blue hues with particles lighting the arena.; in the anime, Top - having reached the state of Destroyer Form - releases Energy of Destruction that changes the background yet again, while in the manga, Goku and Vegeta's Kamehameha/Gamma Burst Flash combo against Super Full Power Jiren causes the change.
Beerus 比鲁斯

Beerus (ビルス Birusu) is the God of Destruction of Universe 7. He is accompanied by his martial arts teacher and attendant, Whis. Beerus' twin brother is Champa, the God of Destruction of Universe 6. Beerus is the main antagonist of the Dragon Ball Z: Battle of Gods film and the God of Destruction Beerus Saga but becomes a supporting character in later sagas.
Whis 维斯

Whis (ウイス Uisu) is the Guide Angel Attendant of Universe 7's God of Destruction, Beerus, as well as his Martial Arts teacher. Along with the other angels, he is a child of the Grand Minister. Like all attendants, he is bound to the service of his deity and usually does not leave Beerus unaccompanied.

Old Kai (老界王神 Rō Kaiōshin, lit. "Old God of the Kings of the Worlds") is a Potara fusion between the Old Witch and the Supreme Kai of the fifteenth generation, though he is usually just referred to as Elder Kai, or Great Lord Kaioshin (大界王神 様 Dai Kaiōshin Sama, lit. "Great God of the Kings of the Worlds") in the Japanese anime. A lecherous but wise and mostly upstanding deity, he serves as an advisor to the current Supreme Kai and acts as an important supporting character throughout most of the series.
Super Shenron 超级神龙

Super Shenron (超スーパー神シェン龍ロン Sūpā Shenron, lit. "Super God/Divine Dragon") is the Eternal Dragon who appears when the Super Dragon Balls are gathered. In the English dub, it is said that this divine dragon is Zalama. Super Shenron is the Dragon of the Gods (神の龍 Kami no ryū). He was made when the Dragon God, Zalama, formed the Super Dragon Balls. To summon the Super Shenron, one must say the phrase, "Come forth, Dragon of the Gods, and grant my wish pretty peas!" ("Dragon of the Gods" is changed to "Divine Dragon" and "Pretty peas" is changed to "Peas and Carrots" in the Funimation dub) in the Divine Language. The wisher must also state their wish in the same language for Super Shenron to grant it.
