Dragon Ball Super (ドラゴンボール超スーパー Doragon Bōru Sūpā) (commonly abbreviated as DBS) is the fourth anime installment in the Dragon Ball franchise, which ran from July 5th, 2015 to March 25th, 2018. It is set between Dragon Ball Z episodes 288 and 289 and is the first Dragon Ball television series featuring a new storyline in 18 years since the final episode of Dragon Ball GT in 1997. A Dragon Ball Super manga was being produced alongside the anime. The series is developed by Toei, in a similar process to the Dragon Ball, Dragon Ball Z, Dragon Ball GT animes and Dragon Ball Z: Battle of Gods and Dragon Ball Z: Resurrection ‘F’ films. The series plot takes place after the Kid Buu Saga, in between the ten-year gap towards the 28th World Martial Arts Tournament.

"Future" Trunks Saga 未来特兰克斯篇
The "Future" Trunks Saga (“未来”トランクス編 "Mirai" Torankusu Hen), also called the Rebellious Zamasu Saga, Goku Black Saga, or Fused Zamasu Saga is the fourth saga of the Dragon Ball Super anime and third saga of the Dragon Ball Super manga. It involves the return of Future Trunks and a battle surpassing time and space with Goku Black and Future Zamasu, involving the Gods of Destruction, Supreme Kais, and even Zeno.
未来特兰克斯虽然消灭了以往的威胁人造人类，但没想到又有谜之敌人出来袭击本来已经快要消耗殆尽的人类们，所以可怜的未来世界惨况几乎是没有什么改变，经过一年的努力与牺牲，布尔玛成功收集到单程时光机车票，并表示或许有方法回来。原来这个谜之敌人是扎马斯惹祸，他非常痛恨人类，于是利用超级七龙珠，夺走悟空的身体并成为黑暗悟空，即使未来特兰克斯可以变身成为超级赛亚人2且能量能与超级赛亚人3的孙悟空抗衡也依然不敌黑暗悟空，必须以超级赛亚人之神才能与黑悟空对抗（动画版改为超级赛亚人3的孙悟空轻松击败超级赛亚人2的未来特兰克斯）。未来的特兰克斯来到悟空这个时空，和悟空与贝吉塔前往未来对抗黑暗悟空。贝吉塔变身超级赛亚人2和超级赛亚人蓝也能轻松打败只能变身成为普通的超级赛亚人黑悟空，没想到黑悟空竟然和未来扎马斯联手出击，黑悟空原本是夺取孙悟空的身体而使用赛亚人濒死复原后能实力大增的特质，再加上扎马斯原本是界王神的弟子拥有复活之力，使得黑悟空也突破超级赛亚人之神，简称超级赛亚人玫瑰（动画版则是改成黑悟空能直接变成超级赛亚人玫瑰），也得知未来扎马斯利用超级七龙珠将自己变成不死身。悟空等人不敌后回到过去修练然后再次回到未来，悟空使用先前向龟仙人领悟的魔封波要封印扎马斯，可是却带错封条而失败了（动画版改为忘记带），贝吉塔则是超级赛亚人之神与超级赛亚人蓝切换轻松击败黑悟空（动画改为贝吉塔以更强的超级赛亚人蓝打败扎马斯，反而让黑悟空更为强大），在激战时黑暗悟空与扎马斯合体，悟空和贝吉塔也只好使用合体进行激战，状况优势时双方突然解除合体，最后特兰克斯将他打败。正当众人以为扎马斯和黑悟空等人已死时，黑悟空和扎马斯突然变成合体扎马斯，因为黑悟空和扎马斯原本是同一人所以在合体时细胞已经融为一体了，甚至可以分裂多个合体扎马斯（动画版改为上空垄罩着黑暗扎马斯的脸和笑），悟空拿起呼叫器呼叫出未来的全王，这个未来的全王到场后也一口气将未来的时空全数毁灭掉，悟空等人赶紧搭上时光机回到原来的时空，世界又恢复了和平，之后未来的特兰克斯也与众人道别。

Future Trunks (未み来らいのトランクス Mirai no Torankusu) is a Saiyan-Earthling hybrid and the son of Vegeta and Bulma, both from an alternate future. By the time Present Trunks was born, the timeline had been drastically altered by Future Trunks' and Cell's trips to the past. Therefore, the two Trunks had completely different lives (as opposed to those who lived before the Time Machines arrived, who lived exactly the same lives as their counterparts until the point at which the two timelines diverge, three years before the androids arrived). Well-mannered, serious and very cautious, Trunks hails from an alternate timeline in which Future Androids 17 and 18 murdered the Dragon Team and proceeded to create an apocalyptic anarchy on Earth. Trunks is trained by Future Gohan as a teenager and becomes a gifted fighter, swordsman and a Super Saiyan, which are traits that aid him greatly in the battle against the Androids after traveling back in time in order to save his own future. More than 10 years later, Future Trunks would return in Dragon Ball Super, this time fighting against a mysterious entity referred to as Goku Black (and later his counterpart) wreaking havoc in the future. In the end, Trunks (with the help of Goku and Vegeta) neutralizes the threat, though unfortunately, Zamasu not only survives the ordeal, but he becomes an even bigger threat, to the point that Future Zeno was needed to erase him. Trunks himself is one of the three survivors and is currently living in another future timeline where another Future Trunks exists - created in the anime by Whis warning Future Beerus ahead of time to eliminate the soon-to-be rogue Supreme Kai, while in the manga Trunks and Mai travel to their timeline's past and prevent Future Shin's death with the blessing of Beerus as it will save his counterpart, thus eliminating the possibility of the Project Zero Mortals.

Future Mai (未来のマイ Mirai no Mai) is the one of the tritagonists of the "Future" Trunks Saga. She is the leader of the Resistance against Goku Black and one of Future Trunks' closest allies. Mai assists Trunks and the others throughout the entire story arc. In the end, Fused Zamasu had merged with the multiverse itself, causing Future Zeno to erase it. She is one of the three survivors and now lives in the new future timeline where another Future Mai exists - thanks to Whis warning Future Beerus of Zamasu's Project Zero Mortals.
Future Gohan
Future Gohan (未み来らいの孫そん悟ご飯はん Mirai no Son Gohan) is the alternate timeline counterpart of Gohan that appears in the timeline in which Future Trunks lives.[5] Future Gohan is showcased as a twenty-three-year-old man and is depicted as the mentor of Future Trunks. After his father dies from a heart virus and cannot be wished back with the Dragon Balls, due to his death being a natural cause and the murder of the Dragon Team at the hands of Android 17 and Android 18 six months later, Gohan becomes Earth's last line of defense. Now a Super Saiyan, he spends the following thirteen years attempting to take down the androids, all the while training Future Trunks in the hope that he may one day be able to defeat them.
Future Bulma

She played a small and largely unseen, but very important role in the Trunks Saga through Perfect Cell Saga; creating the Time Machine that enabled Future Trunks to go back in time in the first place and warn every one of the Androids.

Vegito (ベジット Bejitto), also known as Vegerot in the Viz English manga, is the resulting fusion between Goku and Vegeta by the use of the Potara Earrings. Vegito wields tremendous power, and like his Fusion Dance counterpart Gogeta, he is regarded as one of the mightiest warriors in the entire Dragon Ball franchise. Vegito first appeared at the end of "Union of Rivals" to start battling with Super Buu, with his second appearance in the next episode "Meet Vegito" as the main protagonist throughout the entire episode. His debut in Dragon Ball Super was many years later to fight and attempt to defeat Fused Zamasu, though they quickly defused due to over-usage of power.
Goku Black 黑悟空
黑悟空（ゴクウブラック），男，日本漫画《龙珠超》及其衍生作品中的角色，“未来特兰克斯篇”中的主要反派，为了自己所认定的“正义”，一心想消灭所有人类。另一个时空：第十宇宙界王神·扎马斯利用超级龙珠许愿与该时空一年之后的第七宇宙赛亚人孙悟空交换身躯后所诞生的姿态。
Goku Black (ゴクウブラック Gokū Burakku), also known as Zamasu (ザマス Zamasu), though usually referred to as Black (ブラック Burakku), is an alternate incarnation of Zamasu and a former North Kai and Supreme Kai apprentice serving his former master Gowasu from the unaltered main timeline within Universe 10. He serves as the main antagonist of the "Future" Trunks Saga of Dragon Ball Super. Black visited Universe 6, went to the Super Dragon Balls from the unaltered main timeline within that universe, summoned Super Shenron from said timeline, wished to switch bodies with Goku from the unaltered main timeline within Universe 7, and Super Shenron granted Goku Black's wish. Goku Black sought to destroy all mortals alongside Future Zamasu, an alternate counterpart of him. When he arrived to Future Trunks' timeline, he initially referred to himself as Goku. However, due to the notable style and color difference between Black and Goku's clothes, he was given the name "Goku Black" by Future Bulma and thus took the name even when he revealed his own identity.
Goku Black Super Saiyan Rosé 超级赛亚人玫红
超级赛亚人玫红（全称“超级赛亚人之神超级赛亚人”）黑悟空特有的神境界变身，是扎马斯在赛亚人“孙悟空”身体下的神境界变身，与超蓝一样都是全身包覆着火焰状的灵气，同超蓝的气焰中有着神境界的光点，气焰从外到里则分别为深红、薄红、紫三种不同颜色，头发变化为玫红色，和超级赛亚人一样，眼睛没有轮廓线，瞳孔和虹膜的颜色变为灰白色，爆气为玫红色。在瞬间爆满气时会有点电火花。因为使用了赛亚人的身体与原本神境界的组合变身，加上赛亚人的邪煞气质使他的性格更加地邪恶、自恋、高傲且自信。此形态在实力方面能和“超蓝”匹敌。但由于黑悟空的灵魂是神因此并不会消耗太多气与体力。
Goku Black possesses the ability to become a truly divine Super Saiyan God Super Saiyan (in most media) or his own divine version of the first Super Saiyan form (in the Dragon Ball Super anime, as well as the Dragon Ball Fusions video game). In this form, he is able to augment his techniques into more elaborate variations. In the anime, Black stated that he fully mastered Goku's power to be able to achieve Super Saiyan Rosé. As this form is the divine version of the first Super Saiyan form in the Dragon Ball Super anime, Goku Black transforms into the first, standard Super Saiyan form to achieve the Super Saiyan Rosé form. In the manga, Goku Black's standard Super Saiyan form eventually evolves into this form after exploiting the Saiyan Power ability by letting Future Zamasu heal his injuries a few times. It is speculated that this form's color is light pink due to Goku Black's (Zamasu's) identity as a truly divine being, whereas Goku and Vegeta's Blue forms are blue due to them being mortals possessing godly ki.
Zamasu 扎马斯
扎马斯，日本经典动漫《龙珠超》及其衍生作品中的角色，登场于“未来特兰克斯篇”。原本是第10宇宙的界王，因为拥有超强的实力而被第10宇宙界王神格瓦斯选为界王神候选人。但有着扭曲的善恶观，无法容忍自己所认定的任何罪恶，身为神却对人类抱有偏见，认为人类（指宇宙中所有非神的智慧种族）只会滥用暴力、制造战争，并在人类值不值得守护的问题上与师父格瓦斯产生分歧，最终制造了一个波及多个平行宇宙的可怕计划“人类0计划”。
Zamasu (ザマス Zamasu) is the Supreme Kai apprentice serving the Supreme Kai of Universe 10, Gowasu. He is also the former North Kai of Universe 10. Generally, Zamasu is shown to be a very calm and methodical person, as shown in combat when carefully perceiving his opponent's attack style and seamlessly countering in a fluid manner. While a man who cares for the development and prosperity of the universe, Zamasu often questioned the worth of mortals, not trusting in their ability to handle conflict as they were prone to commence war in a repeated cycle and not understanding that mortal life was key to the prosperity of the universe. He unfortunately possessed a questionable sense of justice believing that it would be more better to just to kill them off, to keep them from making the same mistakes. He also did not agree with how the Kais would not be more directly involved in mortals' actions, like the Gods of Destruction.
Future Zamasu 未来扎马斯
Future Zamasu (未み来らいのザマス Mirai no Zamasu) is an alternate timeline counterpart of the Zamasu from Future Trunks' timeline. He is the secondary antagonist of the "Future" Trunks Saga. He is the former Supreme Kai apprentice of Universe 10, who became a Supreme Kai. This version of Zamasu is an ally to Goku Black (his past self from the original present timeline) and the two were the only gods left in that timeline. He along with Black worked together to wipe out all Mortals with Project Zero Mortals.
Fused Zamasu 合体扎马斯
Fused Zamasu (合がっ体たいザマス Gattai Zamasu), (known as Merged Zamasu in the anime and God Zamas in the Viz manga) usually just referred to as Zamasu (ザマス Zamasu), is a Potara fusion born of the union between Goku Black (the original present Zamasu in the original present Goku's body) and Future Zamasu. He is the final antagonist of the "Future" Trunks Saga.
Fused Zamasu Super Saiyan Rosé 合体扎马斯 超级赛亚人玫红
As the Potara Fusion of Goku Black and Future Zamasu was performed while Black was still in his Super Saiyan Rosé state, Fused Zamasu is constantly and permanently in the Super Saiyan Rosé form. Because of this, the resulting fusion cannot enter a normal form nor power down. While this would normally cause a significant strain on the fusion's body and shorten his lifespan, the immortality from Future Zamasu, to an extent, eliminates this problem despite the "unstable" fusion affected by Goku Black (as his body isn't immortal). In the manga, he also retains his hour limitation for staying fused due to not being a true Supreme Kai. However, he was able to stay fused for the full hour, despite Super Saiyan Rosé being a Super Saiyan God Super Saiyan form; with its equivalent Super Saiyan Blue causing Vegito to defuse faster than originally estimated. Even when the fusion ran out, the fact that the two Zamasus were the same person resulted in them rejecting this, resulting in a new combined state. Fused Zamasu's physical appearance in the Super Saiyan Rosé form is that of a standard Super Saiyan with white hair and grey eyes. The white hair and grey eyes were presumably inherited from Future Zamasu, however, Fused Zamasu's eye color could possibly be inherited from the Super Saiyan Rosé form as well. Furthermore, Fused Zamasu possesses a bright, colorful white aura while in the Super Saiyan Rosé form in the anime, while he lacks an aura in the manga. Fused Zamasu remains in the Super Saiyan Rosé form throughout all of his appearances in all Dragon Ball media, except as Infinite Zamasu in the anime.

In the anime, by calling upon the Light of Divine Justice, Fused Zamasu becomes larger and more muscular. In this form he is named Grotesque Zamasu, Fused Zamasu (Right Arm Enlargement) or Fused Zamasu (Half-Corrupted). His aura changes from colorful white to that of Black's as Super Saiyan Rosé. Despite the great increase in power, the flawed nature of Fused Zamasu's body comes with a side-effect of his body mutating, resulting in half of his body becoming an oversized and purple gooey substance. Grotesque Zamasu also has his right eye to gain a purple iris and yellow sclera. As a result of his great anger at losing to Vegito, combined with the forced mutation from his Light of Justice, Fused Zamasu bulks himself up and grows to become huge. He is able to survive Super Saiyan Blue Vegito's Final Kamehameha.

Infinite Zamasu (無限ザマス Mugen Zamasu) is the final incarnation of Zamasu and antagonist of the "Future" Trunks Saga. In the anime, this being is the surviving will of Fused Zamasu left over from his destruction because of Future Zamasu's immortality. In the manga, however, it is the mutated/evolved form of Fused Zamasu, which resulted from Future Zamasu's immortality merging Goku Black and Future Zamasu permanently on a cellular level and his regeneration going into overdrive.
Future Zeno 未来全王
Future Zeno (未来の全王 Mirai no Zen’ō, lit. "Future King of All") is one of the two kings of the 18 Universes in the present timeline and the former king of the 18 universes in Future Trunks' timeline, an entity that is above all living beings of all the universes, though he now lives in the main timeline, sharing the full authority over existence that Present Zeno possesses. In the manga, he is one of the four survivors of his timeline, alongside Future Trunks, Future Mai and Future Scratch.

The Grand Minister (大神官 Daishinkan, lit. "Great Priest" or "High Priest"), formally Grand Minister to the Omni-King(s), is an Angel serving as a close adviser and guiding figure to Zeno and Future Zeno. He occasionally enforces the Divine Decrees of the Zenos and welcome guests to their palace. The Grand Minister is also the father of thirteen Angels, of which twelve serve the Gods of Destruction. Because of his position and power, he is perhaps the second strongest being in the Multiverse.
Zeno's Palace
Zeno's Palace (全王ぜんおうさまの宮殿きゅうでん Zen-ō-sama no Kyūden, lit. "Palace of the King of All") exact location is unknown but it resides above a huge jellyfish that is located in between golden clouds and what appears to be outer space. It is also a separate location from the universes and very far away from them, with even the Angels, as stated by Whis, taking two whole days at full speed to do a one-way trip and four entire days for a single roundtrip, and being more reachable through teleportation, such as the Kai Kai used by the Supreme Kais.
Gowasu 格瓦斯

Gowasu (ゴワス Gowasu) is the Supreme Kai of Universe 10 and Zamasu's former master. Gowasu is an elderly Core Person with light, yellow wrinkled skin, pointy ears, and white hair in the style of a mohawk flipped to the side. He wears a gray, yellow-trimmed coat with a violet long-sleeved shirt underneath, a light blue sash, darker blue baggy pants, and white boots. He also wears gold and green Potara, the decoration of the Supreme Kais.
Future Yajirobe
Future Yajirobe (未来のヤジロベー Mirai no Yajirobē) is Yajirobe's counterpart in the alternate timeline. Future Yajirobe wears a coat and has grown a beard, also he appears older in general since he's in his early sixties. He also seems to have lost his sword. Future Yajirobe, like his main timeline counterpart, is extremely lazy, and eats a lot of food. He also isn't fond of risking his own life. But he is still good hearted. Future Yajirobe's life was exactly the same as his main timeline counterpart's until August of Age 764 when Future Goku used the Instant Transmission to arrive on Earth and kill Future Frieza and Future King Cold.

Haru (ハル Haru) is an orphaned child in Future Trunks' timeline. He only appears in the anime.

Baby Gamera
Baby Gamera (小ガメラ Kogamera) is a flying turtle that is associated with Master Roshi. It is a miniature version of the giant turtle kaijū Gamera from the Gamera series, who also appears in Akira Toriyama's previous manga series, Dr. Slump. Master Roshi is seen flying on Baby Gamera to Bulma's house for a wish from Shenron.
Android 8 人造人8号
Android 8 (人造人間８号 Jinzōningen Hachi-Gō), who goes by the name Eighter (ハッチャン Hacchan) as suggested by Goku, is Dr. Gero's eighth Android creation. He is designed to serve the Red Ribbon Army but is seen as faulty because of his good-spirited nature.
