Dragon Ball Z: The Tree of Might (ドラゴンボールＺゼット 地ち球きゅうまるごと超ちょう決けっ戦せん Doragon Bōru Zetto Chikyū Marugoto Chōkessen, lit. Dragon Ball Z: A Super Battle for the Whole Earth), also known as Dragon Ball Z: Super Battle in the World, is the sixth Dragon Ball film and the third under the Dragon Ball Z banner.

It premiered on July 7, 1990 at the Toei Anime Fair which was additionally dubbed Akira Toriyama: The World (as the other two movies premiering at the fair were based on works by Akira Toriyama). It was first dubbed in English by Funimation and Saban Entertainment through Ocean Productions in 1997. In the edited Dragon Ball Z release, the film was adapted into three episodes of the Namek Saga.

Son Goku 孙悟空

He is Bardock and Gine's youngest son, the husband of Chi-Chi, and the father of Gohan and Goten. Son Goku is a fictional character and the main protagonist of the Dragon Ball manga series created by Akira Toriyama. He is based on Sun Wukong (known as Son Goku in Japan and Monkey King in the West), a main character of the classic 16th-century Chinese novel Journey to the West, combined with influences from the Hong Kong martial arts films of Jackie Chan and Bruce Lee. Originally sent to Earth by his parents as an infant, Kakarot was adopted by Grandpa Gohan and given the name Son Goku. A head injury at an early age altered Goku's memory, ridding him of his initial destructive nature and allowing him to grow up to become one of Earth's greatest defenders. Goku constantly strives and trains to be the greatest warrior possible, which has kept the Earth and the universe safe from destruction multiple times.
Son Gohan 孙悟饭

Son Gohan (孫そん悟ご飯はん Son Gohan, Japanese pronunciation: [sõŋgohãɴ]) is a half-breed Saiyan and one of the most prominent characters in the Dragon Ball series. He is the elder son of the series' primary protagonist Goku and his wife Chi-Chi, the older brother of Goten, the husband of Videl and father to Pan. He is named after Goku's adoptive grandfather, Gohan. Unlike his father, Gohan is a brilliant scholar and lacks a passion for fighting, preferring to do so only when his loved ones are threatened. Nevertheless, he spends much of his life participating in the defense of Earth, often helping to turn the tides when the dormant depths of his power are unleashed
Piccolo 比克
比克（日文名：ピッコロ、英文名：Piccolo），日本漫画《龙珠》及其衍生作品中的角色，Z战士之一。由古川登志夫配音。来自那美克星的那美克星人，曾是企图征服世界的邪恶大魔王，将孙悟空视为宿敌，但随着孙悟空、孙悟饭父子对其之影响，内心逐渐产生改变，最终改邪归正并保护地球。 Piccolo (ピッコロ, Pikkoro) is the spawn of King Piccolo, created to get revenge on Goku in the wake of his death, and subsequently assumes the role as the "evil half" of Kami. However, after being narrowly defeated by Goku, he must team up with him and his friends when opposing the invading Saiyans, including training Goku's son Gohan. He is later revealed to be a Namekian—a green-skinned, four-fingered, hairless humanoid species who created the series' titular Dragon Balls. He dies sacrificing himself to protect Gohan during the fight against the Saiyan Nappa, and trains in the afterlife under King Kai before being wished back to life by the Namekian Dragon Balls. While he temporarily maintains the partnership during the fights with Frieza and the Androids, by the time of the Cell and Majin Buu arcs he accepts the fact they are allies.
Krillin 克林
(クリリン；英语：Kuririn)，是日本漫画作家鸟山明在集英社《周刊少年Jump》连载的《龙珠》虚构角色。一颗光头，没有鼻子，矮小的身材，克林是一个造型简单的人物。作者的创作初衷似乎在设计一位标准的小和尚，向功夫的泰斗少林寺致敬。初登场的克林是悟空在龟仙流的同门师兄弟，也可以说是竞争对手。当时他给人的印象是坏坏的，老是想歪点子赢过悟空，而且还有些好色，和师傅龟仙人臭味相投。不过随着故事的发展，克林的性格逐渐变得和悟空一样正义而单纯（据声优推测是受悟空的影响吧），并且是在爱情上专一的好男人。他被弗利萨杀害时，悟空极度愤怒而变身为传说中的战士超级赛亚人。他在爱情上的付出也有所回报，娶到了心目中的女神18号。雅木茶则认为克林是最强的地球人。以上种种，均可见作者对这一角色之青睐。 Krillin (クリリン, Kuririn) is a bald martial artist and one of Goku's best friends and classmates. He and Goku are under the tutelage of Master Roshi; initially his rival but later a friend, and a loyal companion in adventures thereafter. He is killed by King Piccolo's spawn Tambourine, but is later revived by Shenron. After the fight with the Saiyans, he travels to Planet Namek, where he is killed by Frieza. After being brought back to life again by the Namekian Dragon Balls, he helps out during the Android and Cell arcs. He is married to Android 18 and has a daughter, Marron (マーロン, Māron).
Master Roshi 龟仙人

He is often accompanied by his talking sea turtle companion, Umigame (ウミガメ, "Sea Turtle"), who often tries to point out his flaws. Master Roshi was trained by Master Mutaito (武泰斗), who also trained his cohorts-turned-rival Tsuru-Sen'nin (鶴仙人, "Crane Hermit"); he has also received additional training from Korin. When he appears anonymously in the World Martial Arts Tournament, Master Roshi uses the name "Jackie Chun" (ジャッキー・チュン, Jakkī Chun), wears a wig, and discards his sunglasses.

Bulma (ブルマ, Buruma) first appears as a teenager using the Dragon Radar, a fictional device she created to detect the energy signal emitted by Dragon Balls. She is led to Goku's location by the signal emitted by the four-star ball in his possession and recruits him as a bodyguard while hoping to get his four-star ball to grant her wish for a boyfriend. She gives up on the wish after meeting Yamcha, and much later in the series, she marries Vegeta. Bulma has also assumed the role of inventor and has consistently provided critical tech support to Goku and his friends in their battles against various enemies and threats throughout the series. Some of her notable innovations include a microband that could make her shrink and a time machine that brought her son from an alternate future timeline, Trunks, to the past on multiple occasions.
Chi-Chi 琪琪

Chi-Chi (チチ) is Goku's wife, Gohan and Goten's mother, and Pan's grandmother. She and Goku first meet as children when her father, the Ox-King, asks Goku to take her to Master Roshi's house. In a misunderstanding, Goku promises to marry her. Years later, she confronts him about his promise at the 23rd World Martial Arts Tournament, and they get married. As the matriarch of the family, she is depicted as being overprotective of Gohan's well-being and wishes to interrupt Goku's lifestyle of fighting and constant conflict. She relaxes her stance with her younger son Goten, even training him herself.
Yamcha 饮茶

His signature attack is the Rōgafūfūken (狼牙風風拳, "Fist of the Wolf Fang", renamed to "Wolf Fang Fist" in the Funimation dub), a physical barrage of punches and palm strikes, ending with a double palm strike. As a result of training under Master Roshi, Yamcha is able to perform the Kamehameha and develops the Sōkidan (繰気弾, "Spinning Chi Bullet"), an energy sphere directed by psychokinesis. He also later trains under Kami to prepare for the impending Saiyan invasion, but is killed by one of their Saibamen. Before being wished back to life by the Namekian Dragon Balls, he trained under King Kai in the afterlife. He remains as a regular member of the Dragon Team, but gradually becomes less active later in the series. He trains in the afterlife under King Kai before being revived by the Namekian Dragon Balls. Tien Shinhan helps out during the battles against the Androids and Cell, but for the most part does not participate in fighting until Frieza's return and later the Tournament of Power.

Chiaotzu is first introduced at the 22nd World Martial Arts Tournament, having been trained by Master Roshi's rival Master Shen, trying to kill Goku and his fellow-students. After Tien Shinhan decides that Master Shen's teachings are wrong, the two leave him and join Goku and his companions to defeat King Piccolo. After assisting Tien Shinhan and Master Roshi in finding the Dragon Balls, Chiaotzu is killed by King Piccolo while trying to thwart his wish for eternal youth, but is later revived using the Dragon Balls. In the battle against the Saiyans, he ineffectively self-destructs on Nappa in order to save Tien Shinhan. He trains in the afterlife under King Kai before being revived by the Namekian Dragon Balls. Chiaotzu joins the other characters when they gather for Frieza's return, but Trunks kills Frieza before a fight ensues. Chiaotzu is generally no longer involved in battle from that point onwards, although he continues to train with Tien Shinhan.

Puar 普尔
（日文名：プーアル、英文名：PUARU）是日本经典漫画《龙珠》及其衍生动画《龙珠》《龙珠Z》《龙珠GT》《龙珠改》《龙珠超》等作品中的配角，该角色根据中国普洱茶命名，由渡边菜生子配音。动物型地球人、超能力者。曾与乌龙共同就读于南部变身幼稚园，后与雅木茶成为好伙伴，在沙漠中遇到寻找龙珠的孙悟空与布尔玛等人，并与其成为好朋友。
Pu'ar (プーアル, Pūaru), Puar in the Funimation anime dub, Pu-erh in their subtitles, and named Squeakers in the Harmony Gold dub, is a soft-spoken blue creature and Yamcha's companion. Puar's abilities consist of levitation and shapeshifting. He and Oolong went to the same shapeshifting school together, where he was constantly mocked by Oolong. When first introduced, he and Yamcha operate as bandits in a desert, where they encounter Goku, Bulma, and Oolong. At first they tail and assist the group in order to steal the Dragon Balls they are collecting, though they later reform and befriend the trio. When Goku transforms into a giant ape for the first time in the series, Puar transforms into a pair of scissors and cuts off his tail to turn him back to his regular state. Together with Upa, Puar defeats Dracula Man while competing in Baba Uranai's tournament. The character's name is a pun on pu'er tea and was designed to slightly resemble a cat.
Oolong 乌龙
乌龙（日文名：乌龙、英文名：Uron、又译：小八戒），日本漫画《龙珠》及其衍生作品中的角色。外型是一只小猪，动物型地球人。该角色根据《西游记》中的猪八戒为原型及中国茶叶乌龙茶命名
Oolong (ウーロン, Ūron), named Mao-Mao in the Harmony Gold dub, is a shapeshifting, anthropomorphic pig that uses his abilities for his greedy desires. He and Puar went to the same shapeshifting school together before he was expelled for stealing the teacher's panties; as such, he can only change his form for five minutes at a time, requiring a one-minute break afterwards. Oolong joins Goku and Bulma to search for the Dragon Balls and eventually steal them but abandons this plan. He makes the first shown wish with the Dragon Balls: a pair of panties. Oolong plays a minor role as the series progresses, where he is often in the company of Master Roshi.
Shenron 神龙
神龙，日本经典动漫《龙珠》及其衍生作品中的角色。传说，世界上散落着7颗龙珠，各有一至七颗不等的五角星标记，集齐7颗龙珠念出咒语，就能召唤神龙，并能向其许一个愿望神龙实现愿望后，7颗龙珠便会自动飞散，变成石头，一年后才可再次使用。《龙珠超》追加新设定：龙珠因制造者的能力，龙珠数量也是不定的；超级龙珠和地球龙珠不一样。
Shénlóng (神龍, Shenron, lit. "Dragon God"), Shenron in Funimation's anime dub, also known as the Eternal Dragon in the Ocean and Funimation dubs and as the Dragon God in the Harmony Gold dub, is the wish-granting dragon summoned when all seven of Earth's Dragon Balls are gathered together. Throughout the series, several rules on the Dragon Balls' use and limitations on Shenron's power are explained. After the wish is granted the balls scatter across the planet, turn to stone, are useless for a year, and cannot be detected by Bulma's Dragon Radar.
King Kai 北界王

King Kai (界かい王おう様さま Kaiō-sama, lit. "King of Worlds") is the North Kai (北きたの界かい王おう Kita no Kaiō, lit. "North King of Worlds") and king of Universe 7's North Area. A comedy lover and brilliant mentor, he acts as Goku's Martial Arts teacher and instructs him in using the Kaio-ken and the Spirit Bomb. He later teaches Krillin, Yamcha, Tien Shinhan, Piccolo, and Chiaotzu and continues to act as a major supporting character throughout the majority of the series.

Bubbles (バブルス Baburusu) is the monkey pet and friend of King Kai. He serves a special purpose during King Kai's training lessons, particularly one of two endurance tests, where trainees are instructed to chase after Bubbles in an effort to catch him. Though the task may seem simple at first, there is a catch: the gravity on King Kai's Planet is ten times that of Earth, and Bubbles is perfectly used to it.
Gregory 古雷格利

Gregory is a small dark green cricket like humanoid, with an upright posture, antenna, and bug like eyes, he also has a tail like protrusion at the bottom of his torso. After Cell blew up King Kai's Planet, Gregory has been seen with a halo.
Icarus
Icarus, known as Hire Dragon (ハイヤードラゴン Haiyā Doragon) in the original Japanese version and uncut Ocean dub of Dragon Ball Z: The Tree of Might, is one of Gohan's closest non-humanoid friends. A young lilac coloured dragon. He has large innocent looking green eyes, a set of small wings that despite his overall size allow him to fly at fast speeds, and a set of protruding horns that come out the top of his head and also from the side of his face.

Rasin and Lakasei are both purple skinned, ovular-headed and rather short. They are revived by Turles from fossils of the long extinct Beenz people by using extract from the Tree of Might. Their species is extremely intelligent, and the two of them built Turles' spaceship and the rest of their ordnance.

Daiz 戴兹

Daiz (ダイーズ Daīzu) is the prince of the Pukinpa Dynasty on Planet Kabocha but got recruited into the Turles Crusher Corps. He sports a punk-rock look, has dark teal hair with a ponytail, wears earrings, and a jewelry necklace. Daiz was the prince of the Pukinpa Dynasty on planet Kabocha. At some point, on his homeworld, he led his kingdom's army in an attack against Turles. Daiz fought so bravely against Turles that the Saiyan fugitive let him become one of his henchmen.
Cacao 卡卡奥

Cacao (カカオ Kakao) is one of the henchmen led by Turles in Dragon Ball Z: The Tree of Might. Cacao's appearance is marked by cyborg components adorned over skin similar in appearance to magma. Being a cyborg, Cacao's Battle Armor is the only armor with weapons. Cacao was originally a battle Cyborg built on planet Ikonda to fight in an interstellar war. After this, he became a galactic lone-wolf bounty hunter and volunteers to join the Turles Crusher Corps. In addition, his cyborg body is made from a special metal that makes him immune to ordinary attacks, including Yamcha's Spirit Ball.
Amond 阿蒙多
阿蒙多（アモンド，AMONDO）性格凶恶，对自己的力量充满信心。原本是一个横行银河系的凶恶罪犯，后来他被银河巡警逮捕，囚禁在纳兹星上。然而在某一天达列斯袭击了这颗星球，这让阿蒙多得以逃脱。一路上他遇到了达列斯，后者随后将他招募到自己的小队中。相关电影小册子指出阿蒙多的战斗力为9,100。
Amond (アモンド Amondo) is a member of the Turles Crusher Corps and an antagonist in Dragon Ball Z: The Tree of Might. Amond has a vicious personality. He is confident in his power but very respectful to his employer Turles, even going so far as to call him "Mighty Turles". He was originally an atrocious criminal who rampaged throughout the entire galaxy. One day, he was arrested by the Galactic Patrol and imprisoned on planet Nutts. However, that same day, the low-class Saiyan Turles attacked the planet, which allowed Amond to make his escape. Along the way, he met up with Turles, who then recruited him into his squad.
Turles 达列斯
达列斯（ターレス， Turles），《龙珠Z》剧场版人物，弗利萨毁灭贝吉塔行星时幸存的赛亚人之一，和孙悟空长相相似，但性格阴险卑鄙。靠吃精神树的果实来增强自身战斗力，后来在和孙悟空交战时被悟空的元气弹消灭。达列斯名字来自莴苣的英语 Lettuce更动拼字。和孙悟空一样属于下级战士出身，下级战士作为一种一次性用品，数目非常多，很多人都很相像，这是两人长相相似的官方解释，不过他皮肤比悟空黑，四肢十分发达。看到满月可以变身成巨猿战斗。
Turles (ターレス Tāresu) is a Saiyan who was once a member of the Saiyan Army under the Frieza Force, but he went rogue and off into the cosmos to conquer planets for himself with his group of henchmen known as the Turles Crusher Corps. He is the main antagonist of Dragon Ball Z: The Tree of Might, and a supporting antagonist-turned rival in the Super Dragon Ball Heroes anime. Aside from a different skin tone and retaining his Saiyan tail, Turles looks exactly the same as Goku does, even virtually identical height and build. Turles wears gray and black Battle Armor. Out of all the low-class soldiers wearing scouters in the series, Turles is the only one whose Scouter lens is red, looking similar to the one worn by Vegeta in his first appearance. Turles is also shown briefly wearing a white cape similar to Piccolo's. In the Universe Creation Saga, Turles is shown to have discarded his scouter and wears a black cape instead. Turles is shown to be a merciless, prideful and confident individual. His cruel treatment of Gohan proves that he cares little to nothing for others, shown again when he casually dismisses the deaths of his loyal subordinates at the hands of Goku. As such, his lack of empathy was such that, when Goku accuses Turles of not knowing the difference between good and evil, Turles reveals he has a firm grasp on what good and evil is, yet he doesn't even care about it. As with many other villains before and after him, his main objective is to conquer the universe, though he plans on doing so by using his Tree of Might, even if it means killing billions of innocent people in the process. He also seems to find pleasure in seeing others suffer, as to how he laughed when Goku was being attacked by his own son.
