Dragon Ball (Japanese: ドラゴンボール, Hepburn: Doragon Bōru) is a Japanese anime television series produced by Toei Animation. It is an adaptation of the first 194 chapters of the manga of the same name created by Akira Toriyama, which were published in Weekly Shōnen Jump from 1984 to 1995. The anime is composed of 153 episodes that were broadcast on Fuji TV from February 1986 to April 1989. It was broadcast in 81 countries worldwide. It is part of the Dragon Ball media franchise.

《龙珠》（日语：ドラゴンボール，英语：Dragon Ball），改编自日本漫画作家鸟山明在集英社刊载的同名漫画《龙珠》第001话至第194话的内容的电视动画节目，被这个系列的影迷通称“无印”或“初代”。于1986年2月26日至1989年4月19日在富士电视台播放，总共153话播映结束之后的故事是由《龙珠Z》接续下去。



Tien Shinhan Saga
The Tien Shinhan Saga, also known as the 22nd Tenka-Ichi Budoukai Saga (第２２回天下一武道会編 Dai-Nijūni Tenka-Ichi Budōkai Hen, lit. "The 22nd Number One Under Heaven Martial Arts Gathering Arc") is the seventh saga from Dragon Ball. The manga volumes that it is made up of are the second half of "Return To The Tournament" and "The Eyes of Tenshinhan". The plot of this saga revolves around the 22nd World Martial Arts Tournament, a tournament between the best fighters in the world. This is noteworthy for being the final saga of the original Dragon Ball to largely feature comedic, slapstick elements, something that would not return in major form until late in Dragon Ball Z, in the Great Saiyaman Saga and Majin Buu Saga.

3年后悟空与乐平及小林参加第22届天下第一武道会，但却遇上也有参加武道会的鹤仙人徒弟天津饭及饺子，最后悟空在决赛被打败，天津饭取得优胜，但此时小林却被短笛大魔王的手下杀害，悟空为此挑战短笛大魔王但是却战败。后来悟空接受加林神的试炼后，最后以龙拳成功打倒短笛大魔王，但是短笛大魔王却在临死前产下自己的儿子短笛，悟空也因此接受神的修练。三年后悟空等人一起参加第23届天下第一武道会，短笛也为父报仇而参加，最后悟空在决赛打败短笛取得优胜。

Tien 天津饭
天津饭，日本经典动漫《龙珠》及其衍生作品中的角色，Z战士之一。因为是宇宙人·三目人和地球人的混血后裔，所以他最显著的特征是有三只眼睛，这使得他可以看到最快的速度、魔族的气息和残像拳，孙悟空普通的龟派气功也对他没有效果。他也是许多招数的发明者，例如太阳拳和新气功炮。尽管在故事后期中他只是一个配角，也死过两次，但是他仍然是一个强大的战士，也拥有很独特的魅力。

Tenshinhan (天津飯テンシンハン), named Tien Shinhan in the Funimation anime dub and also known as Shinto in the Harmony Gold dub, is first introduced, having been trained by Master Roshi's rival Master Shen, trying to kill Goku and his fellow-students. Later, he and Chiaotzu become their allies, fighting against King Piccolo's minion until Goku arrives. In the fight with the Saiyans, Tien Shinhan dies of exhaustion against Nappa. He trains in the afterlife under King Kai before being revived by the Namekian Dragon Balls. Tien Shinhan helps out during the battles against the Androids and Cell, but for the most part does not participate in fighting until Frieza's return and later the Tournament of Power.

Chiaotzu 饺子
日本经典动漫《龙珠》及其衍生作品中的角色，Z战士之一，能够使用超能力。原是鹤仙人的徒弟，在第22届天下第一武道会结束后，受到龟仙人教导，从而改邪归正，与师兄天津饭一同成为了孙悟空等人的伙伴，跟随悟空等人对抗比克大魔王，赛亚人等强大的对手，最后是跟天津饭一起生活。
Chaozu (餃子チャオズ), Chiaotzu in the English anime dub, is a small human that resembles a jiangshi with pale skin, red cheeks, and has one hair under his hat. Although he is not physically strong, Chiaotzu is skilled with psychokinesis and telepathy. Chiaotzu is first introduced at the 22nd World Martial Arts Tournament, having been trained by Master Roshi's rival Master Shen, trying to kill Goku and his fellow-students. After Tien Shinhan decides that Master Shen's teachings are wrong, the two leave him and join Goku and his companions to defeat King Piccolo. After assisting Tien Shinhan and Master Roshi in finding the Dragon Balls, Chiaotzu is killed by King Piccolo while trying to thwart his wish for eternal youth, but is later revived using the Dragon Balls. In the battle against the Saiyans, he ineffectively self-destructs on Nappa in order to save Tien Shinhan. He trains in the afterlife under King Kai before being revived by the Namekian Dragon Balls. Chiaotzu joins the other characters when they gather for Frieza's return, but Trunks kills Frieza before a fight ensues. Chiaotzu is generally no longer involved in battle from that point onwards, although he continues to train with Tien Shinhan.

Master Shen 鹤仙人
鹤仙人（Crane Hermit），日本漫画《龙珠》及其衍生作品中的角色，武泰斗的弟子，龟仙人的同门师兄弟，但为人心术不正，与龟仙人是死对头，创立与龟仙流相对立的鹤仙流，有两个实力不俗的徒弟天津饭和饺子。
Master Shen is the Crane Hermit (鶴仙人 Tsurusen'nin), master of the Crane School and Mercenary Tao's older brother. Whilst they both trained at the Mutaito Training Academy, a rivalry quickly grew between Shen and Master Roshi. Master Shen and Mercenary Tao, likewise, began to fight over the smallest things. Eventually, a simple spilled bowl of rice was enough to break the brothers apart.

Antoine the Great
Antoine the Great (アントン・ザ・グレート Anton Za Grēto) is a giant fighter who tried entering the 22nd World Martial Arts Tournament. Antoine is a former pro-wrestling world champion. He was so strong that he ran out of opponents and had to leave the professional circle to wrestle in the underground scene. Antoine appears to be based on the late professional wrestler André the Giant.

Sumo Wrestler
The Sumo Wrestler is an unnamed sumo wrestler that fought Tien in the elimination round of the 22nd World Martial Arts Tournament. The sumo wrestler steps into the ring ready to fight Tien. Another fighter insults the sumo wrestler, calling him a blob of fat. The sumo wrestler steps out of the ring, and angrily tells the fighter to say that to his face. The fighter punches the sumo wrestler in the stomach, to no effect. The sumo wrestler then slaps the fighter into a wall (looks pretty painful, the guy's teeth were knocked out). Yamcha says he is pretty strong, and Jackie Chun adds that fighters like that are tough to beat. The match begins, and the sumo wrestler lunges at Tien. Tien swiftly hits the sumo wrestler in the head, and he collapses. Tien wins the match, shocking everyone.

King Chappa
King Chappa (チャパ王おう Chapa-Ō) is a warrior who was once the world Martial Arts champion, known for his famous eight-handed technique. He lives at the address SSR 249905 C with his wife Ruhna and their three children Sapa, Peruka and Chapu.

Man-Wolf 男狼
Man-Wolf (男狼 Otoko Ōkami) is the first opponent of Jackie Chun at the 22nd World Martial Arts Tournament. Man-Wolf detests his wolf form due to how he is treated by others and the fact that he can't be with girls. While his human form is ugly, he considers it very handsome. He held a grudge against Jackie Chun for destroying the moon and leaving him trapped in his wolf form permanently even during the night. As a result, he spent all the time in between the 21st and 22nd World Martial Arts Tournaments training to defeat Jackie Chun to take revenge on him. However, after Chun managed to reverse the process and turn him into a human permanently, he became very grateful toward him. Man-Wolf was also shown to be rather arrogant, boasting of his status as a black belt and an ice skater. He was also shown to be annoyed when mistakenly called "Wolf-Man".

Pamput
Pamput (パンプット Pamputto) is a Muay Thai kickboxer and famous movie star that faces Goku in the first round of the 22nd World Martial Arts Tournament. He is also known as the "Unstoppable Fighter," as exclaimed by Master Roshi while disguised as Jackie Chun.

Vodka
Vodka (ウォッカ Uokka) is a rich gangster who first appears in an anime filler of Dragon Ball as Pamput's manager. He later appears in the Dragon Ball Z episode "The Puzzle of General Tao".
