Dragon Ball (Japanese: ドラゴンボール, Hepburn: Doragon Bōru) is a Japanese anime television series produced by Toei Animation. It is an adaptation of the first 194 chapters of the manga of the same name created by Akira Toriyama, which were published in Weekly Shōnen Jump from 1984 to 1995. The anime is composed of 153 episodes that were broadcast on Fuji TV from February 1986 to April 1989. It was broadcast in 81 countries worldwide. It is part of the Dragon Ball media franchise.

《龙珠》（日语：ドラゴンボール，英语：Dragon Ball），改编自日本漫画作家鸟山明在集英社刊载的同名漫画《龙珠》第001话至第194话的内容的电视动画节目，被这个系列的影迷通称“无印”或“初代”。于1986年2月26日至1989年4月19日在富士电视台播放，总共153话播映结束之后的故事是由《龙珠Z》接续下去。

Commander Red Saga

The Commander Red Saga is the fifth saga from Dragon Ball. It occurs after the General Blue Saga and precedes the Fortuneteller Baba Saga. The manga volume that it is made up of is "Taopaipai & Master Karin". It shows us the epic battles between Goku and Mercenary Tao, Goku's quest for finding the Sacred Water, and the final battle between Goku and the Red Ribbon Army. The character Upa is also introduced.

话孙悟空被布尔玛带出深山一起寻找龙珠，在结束搜寻后与小林一起拜龟仙人为师学习武术，修行完毕后两人参加第21届天下第一武道会，最后悟空在决赛败给由龟仙人假扮的陈龙后又在此开始寻找龙珠，但是在搜寻途中却遇上意图利用龙珠征服世界的红缎带军团。由于悟空打倒红缎带军团多个将领，红缎带军团聘用桃白白来应对，悟空也因此被打败，后来接受加林神的修练，成功打倒桃白白并且消灭红缎带军团。

Commander Red Saga 红总帅

Commander Red 红总帅（レッド総帅）

红缎带军团的总帅，正确译名为红总帅。为人心狠手辣，因身材矮小，故命部下搜集龙珠实现自己增高的梦想。孙悟空进攻红缎带军团总部时，布拉克副官得知了黑元帅搜集龙珠的真正目的，被布拉克副官一枪击毙。

Commander Red (レッド総帥 Reddo Sōsui), born Red Ribon ((レッド・ライボン Reddo Raibon), is the dwarfen commander-in-chief of the most feared and ruthless militaristic crime organization: the Red Ribbon Army. After discovering that his enemy, Goku, has a much more sophisticated and superior Dragon Radar, he is angered at the fact that he invested so much in his radar and takes many wary chances only to be contested by a mere child. Commander Red is the main antagonist of most of the Red Ribbon Army Saga. Gero later developed a fully artificial replica of him named Android 9, which eventually came to act as the "leader" of the Red Pants Army.

Staff Officer Black 布拉克副官（ブラック补佐）
红缎带军团的总帅助手兼总指挥副官。黑人、身材高大，将世上有七颗龙珠的事情告知黑元帅。当得知黑元帅收集龙珠是为了增高后，将黑元帅击毙，任命自己为总帅。为迎战孙悟空，他驾驶超级机械人（战斗夹克）与之战斗，最终被孙悟空击败。
Staff Officer Black (ブラック参謀 Burakku Sanbō) is an assistant of Commander Red, and is not given much of a role until the near end of the Commander Red Saga. Black carries out Commander Red's orders and informs Commander Red of the current situations with the remaining Red Ribbon Army officers until late in the story where he becomes Commander Black upon killing Red and usurping his position.

Captain Yellow
Captain Yellow (イエロー大佐 Ierō Taisa, lit. "Colonel Yellow") is an anthropomorphic tiger and a Red Ribbon Army operative who tries to find the Dragon Balls for General Copper and his superior, Commander Red.

Colonel Violet
Colonel Violet (バイオレット大佐 Baioretto Taisa) is the only confirmed female officer in the Red Ribbon Army, although her appearance is very brief.

Mercenary Tao 桃白白
桃白白，日本经典动漫《龙珠》及其衍生作品中的角色，曾经的世界第一杀手，鹤仙人的弟弟，受红缎带军团的雇佣去杀孙悟空，初时的悟空不是桃白白的对手，但随后爬上卡林塔找猫仙人修炼，实力大增，两人第二次交战时，桃白白落败，并被他自己所放的炸弹炸成重伤。但桃白白并没有死去，他花光了之前所赚得的所有的钱使自己变成了机器人。在第23届武道会之时，和鹤仙人再次出现，打算报仇，然而却被天津饭轻易打败。
Tao Pai Pai (桃白白タオパイパイ), Mercenary Tao or General Tao in English anime dubs, is a hitman hired by the Red Ribbon Army to deal with Goku. He is the younger brother of Master Shen, or Crane Hermit (鶴仙人, Tsuru-Sen'nin), the lifelong rival of Master Roshi.

Bora 勃拉
勃拉，日本经典动漫《龙珠》及其衍生作品中的角色，外貌特征类似于印第安人（龙珠世界观不同于现实，自然也不会叫印第安人），是保护圣地卡林塔的高大战士，也是乌巴的父亲。勃拉非常强壮，当耶罗上校（也被译成黄大佐）带着一队军队来向他要龙珠的时候，勃拉警告这些侵略者：为了保护圣地，他将会杀死他们。因为孙悟空从红缎带军手中解救了他的儿子乌帕，所以他和悟空变成了朋友。后来，他被残忍的杀手桃白白杀害了。悟空在泣不成声的乌帕面前发誓，一定会集齐所有的龙珠让他的爸爸复活。勃拉年轻时，也曾经试过攀登卡林塔，但是最终还是失败了。
Bora (ボラ) is a tall, muscular man who resides in the Sacred Land of Korin with his son Upa, in a tepee at the base of the Korin Tower.

Upa 乌帕
乌巴，日本经典动漫《龙珠》中的人物，是主角孙悟空少年时代结识的朋友，与父亲勃拉居住在圣地卡林塔。外表柔弱，内心坚强，希望以后能够变得像悟空和父亲一样强。
Upa (ウパ Upa) is a member of the native tribe whose members serve as the guardians of Korin Tower. His father, Bora, is the chief of the tribe.

General Blue Saga

The General Blue Saga is the fourth saga in the Dragon Ball anime series. The manga volume that it is made up of is "General Blue And The Pirate Treasure". In Funimation's naming conventions for the English language release of the anime, the Red Ribbon Army arc is broken up into three sub-sagas: the Red Ribbon Army Saga, the General Blue Saga, and the Commander Red Saga. This article refers specifically to the events in the second saga, and features General Blue as the primary villain.

General Blue Saga 蓝将军

General Blue 布鲁将军
布鲁将军（BLUE，ブルー将军），也翻译为“蓝将军”。日本经典动漫《龙珠》及其衍生作品中的角色。红缎带军团的干部之一，为争夺龙珠与孙悟空等人多次较量。布鲁将军相貌英俊、有洁癖，但其为人残忍，会为一点小事杀死手下。他的实力不俗，单挑战胜过库林，蓝色的眼睛拥有超能力，就连龟仙人也曾被他的超能力暗算。后在与天下第一杀手桃白白的战斗中被杀。

General Blue (ブルー将軍, Burū-Shōgun) is the titular villain of the General Blue Saga arc in the original Dragon Ball series. One of the Red Ribbon Army's leaders and seemingly its most powerful member, Blue has special telekinetic abilities that allow him to paralyze other individuals and can also be used to control objects. He is a neat freak, and when he does not enjoy Bulma's attempts at seduction, she states that he is gay. He manages to steal the Dragon Radar during their final encounter but after returning to the army's headquarters is set to be executed for not obtaining any of the Dragon Balls after multiple failures. He is allowed to fight the hitman Mercenary Tao to redeem himself, though Tao easily kills Blue using only his tongue.

Captain Dark

Captain Dark, also known as Dock (ドック Dokku) in the original Japanese version, is an obese soldier who works for General Blue of the Red Ribbon Army.

Pirate Robot

The Pirate Robot (海賊ロボ Kaizoku Robo) is a powerful combat robot created by pirates to protect the lair where they keep their treasure.

Octopapa

Octopapa, referred to simply as Giant Octopus (大ダコ Dai Dako) in Japanese version, is a giant, talking octopus that lived in the Pirate Cave.

Sourman

Sourman (スッパマン Suppaman) is a superhero from the planet Okakaume-boshi. When not in disguise, Sourman works as a reporter named Kenta Kuraaku (暗悪健太 Kuraaku Kenta) for the Penguin News Network.

Obotchaman

Obotchaman (オボッチャマン Obotchaman) is an android built by Dr. Mashirito. He is built using the plans for Arale Norimaki, but is designed as a male.

Arale Norimaki

Arale Norimaki (則巻アラレ Norimaki Arare) is an android built by Senbei Norimaki, known for her naiveté, energetic personality, superhuman strength, and lack of common sense. Being the world's first perfect android, her only physical flaw is that she is nearsighted and needs to wear glasses. Senbei's mission is to convince the other citizens of Penguin Village that Arale is a human girl, which they appear to believe in, despite taking notice of her numerous displays of superhuman athletic capability.

Senbei Norimaki

Senbei Norimaki (則巻千兵衛 Norimaki Senbē, also spelled as 則巻センベエ) is Penguin Village's goofy and lecherous genius inventor. He is capable of creating wacky inventions that defy logic with his greatest accomplishment being the creation of a powerful robot in the guise of a little girl who he claims to be his younger sister named Arale Norimaki. He isn't very well known outside of the village but is actually one of Earth's greatest scientific minds as he was secretly the first to successfully create a perfect Android and has won the "World Invention Award" for his creation the Reality Machine 2.

Midori Norimaki

Midori Norimaki (則巻みどり Norimaki Midori), née Midori Yamabuki (山吹みどり Yamabuki Midori), is the wife of Senbei Norimaki and mother of Turbo Norimaki, and a teacher at Penguin Village Middle School.

Turbo Norimaki

Turbo Norimaki (則巻ターボ Norimaki Tābo) is Senbei's and Midori's first biological child. He is also a genius, far surpassing his father in intellect.

Gatchan

Gajira Norimaki (則巻ガジラ Norimaki Gajira), known as Gatchan (ガッちゃん Gacchan) for short, is an Angel that was adopted into the Norimaki family and split into two beings with no distinct differences, who are collectively known as the Gatchans (ガッちゃんズ Gacchanzu). The Gatchans are very close to Arale Norimaki, and often follow her around.

Akane Kimidori

Akane Kimidori (木緑あかね Kimidori Akane, lit. "Yellow-Green Dark Red") is Arale Norimaki's "bad girl" friend and Tsukutsun Tsun's girlfriend in Dr. Slump.

Tsukutsun Tsun

Tsukutsun Tsun (摘突詰 Tsun Tsukutsun) is a main supporting character in the second half of Dr. Slump who later makes a minor appearance in Dragon Ball. He's a teenage boy who practices kung fu and is the son of Tsuruten and Tsuntsunodanoteiyugo, younger brother of Tsururin as well as the future husband of Akane Kimidori.

Taro Soramame

Taro Soramame (空豆タロウ Soramame Tarō) is a Police officer and resident of Penguin Village. He is a close friend of Arale Norimaki and Akane Kimidori as well as the son of Kurikinton Soramame, older brother of Peasuke Soramame and husband of Tsururin Tsun.

Pagos

Pagos (パゴス Pagosu) is a police officer in Penguin Village. He appears in several works by Akira Toriyama.

Gala

Gala (ガラ Gara) is a police officer in Penguin Village. He appears in several works by Akira Toriyama.

Charmy Yamada

Charmy Yamada (チャーミー山田 Chāmī Yamada) is a very dedicated Big City Island cop who is transferred to Penguin Village. He is usually seen patrolling on a dirt bike.
